TOP 2019 INDONESIAN FOOD : How To Make PECEL LELE Recipe – PECAK catfish or better known as pecel lele is a traditional cuisine that is very easily found in various regions in Indonesia. This meal consists of catfish fried crisp, then served with spicy chili sauce and fresh vegetables as a complement.

Some sources say, pecel lele comes from Central Java. However, some also claim that the savory dishes derived from Lamongan, East Java.

Pacel lele Ingredients:

  • 4 catfishes
  • Cooking Oil
  • 1 tablespoon coriander
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 2 cm turmeric
  • ½ tblsp salt
  • 2 tomatoes (cut 4 pieces)
  • 1 cucumber, sliced
  • 6 basil leaf
  • Lettuce
  • 5 big red peppers fruits (fried)
  • 10 pieces of cayenne pepper (fried)
  • 2 tomatoes (fried)
  • 4 cloves garlic (fried)
  • 2 spring onions (fried)
  • 4 pieces of hazelnut (fried)
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp salt

Pecel lele preparation:

  1. Clean and remove essentials and gills of the catfish

  2. Heat the catfish and fry over medium heat up until a little dry and prepared

  3. Mix all sauce ingredients in a mortar, crushed.

  4. Spread the crushed ingredients over the catfish once fried.
